“There will be a strong squad for all four first team friendlies – Derby, Northampton, MK Dons and Mallorca,” said McLeish on the club’s official website.
“Fans should not read anything into the actual team that I pick for any game. The team against Derby, for example, is not likely to be the XI that I start the season with.
“I’ve said before how important it is to have a strong squad and we need to give all the lads vital playing time on the pitch over the next week.
“I’ll mix things up a bit. I have good options for each position and everyone will get a chance to stake their claim.”
